I-joists

Nordic Joist

Nordic I-joists are made with finger-jointed wood flanges bonded to an oriented strand board structural web using structural adhesives. These products are available through our distributors. To learn more about our distribution network, contact our technical support team at tech@nordic.ca.

Structural performance

Thanks to its “ɪ” geometry, Nordic Joist delivers high strength at a reduced weight, allowing for optimized spans and excellent floor performance compared to conventional sawn lumber.

Consistent stability and quality

The tension-tested finger-jointed wood flanges ensure excellent straightness and few imperfections, contributing to reliable and uniform performance from one joist to another. Nordic Joist joists are APA certified.

Ease of installation

Lightweight and easy to handle, Nordic Joist joists allow openings in the web for service runs, provide a wide bearing surface, and facilitate nailing, helping reduce installation time and costs.

Resource optimization

The efficient geometry of I-joists uses nearly 50% less wood fibre than a conventional joist, making Nordic Joist a high-performance and responsible solution.
